Cave
As a first grade team, we got together and taught our kids about caves and the animals/ things that live in them. Our kids so awesome, that we let them "build" their own cave and teach the rest of the school... They also decorated the classroom with their work and findings. This was a great activity. When it was all over with, we took a field trip to Fantastic Caverns in Springfield Mo-- {awesome experience BTW}!!
